Summary
The Custom Rental Products feature allows admins to add specialized products to a customer's order that aren't listed in the public inventory or displayed on the website. This is especially useful for items that are not typically showcased but may be needed for specific orders. This feature provides flexibility in meeting customer needs while keeping your public inventory streamlined and focused.
Instructions
- First, ensure that Enable Custom Products for Orders is on. You can do this by going to Settings → General Settings → Options tab and turn the toggle to Yes
- Next, go to Orders → Create Order
- Under Add products to Order go to Custom
- Click “Rental” and fill out the product name, rental dates and times, and any other optional fields.
- Add a new price by clicking on the dashes (--) and press the check mark when complete.
- You can assign a general ledger account or tax category if desired, and press Add to Order
- After the product has been added, the pricing breakdown and final order summary will be calculated with necessary fees.
8. Once this is complete, you can fill out all other required fields to create the order!
